True Victorian Scottish Agate Oval Brooch with 14kt Gold Accents, 2" by 1.75"

Vintage Jewelry: True Victorian Large Oval Scottish Agate Brooch that is 2" wide and 1.75" tall. The stone is flat and polished beautifully and beveled on the edge - beautiful rich root beer and chocolate browns with black and creamy mocha colors. The stone goes to the very edge. It is bezel set with four scrolled accents which acid test positive as 14kt gold. The bezel setting is brass with gold plating on the outside rim. The pin back has the 1800's pin mechanism but the catch is newer - I believe this may have been a repair. The pin extends beyond the edge of the pin typical of true vintage pieces. I am sure back in the day this was a pin reserved for the wealthy. For wearing purposes, the weight of this brooch is 19.13 grams. Came from a Florida estate but the person was a transplant to Florida in retirement, originally from the northeast. Good condition. See photos. Lot Loc. No.: KIM..
